Aphelion Legal Solutions CEO Hiren P. Patel addressed a group of corporate counsel, litigation practitioners, and electronic discovery vendors at the LPO Summit Conference, administered by the American Conference Institute. Mr. Patel's presentation addressed the cultural differences inherent in an India focused LPO strategy.

Drawing on cross-disciplinary research, Mr. Patel raised a number of issues pertaining to cultural differences and how they affect organizational effectiveness. As Mr. Patel explained, these issues should be properly studied by legal departments and law firms seeking to establish an offshore operation or to work with an offshore vendor, as they affect the type of work that can reasonably be sent offshore and the types of organizational structures that are most effective at delivering high quality work product.
